In fulfilling its mission, the Foundation supports excellence in education through funding programs that:
· PROVIDE ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT – The aim is to challenge students through innovative programs such as: LEAP (Learning Enrichment Activities Program), Vertical Team Training, Junior Achievement’s Exchange City, state-of-the-art technology like Smart Boards, preparing CCHS students for the SAT; and other unique learning projects such as “Mathcounts”, “…And Justice for All”, and an outdoor garden that allows students a hands-on learning experience through science and community service.
· OFFERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – When teachers attend educational workshops and conferences they enhance their own teaching abilities and are able to transfer the learning experience on to students in the classroom.
· CULTIVATE SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT – Guiding students toward a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ in the presence of a community that works and serves daily to transform this world into a kingdom of justice, peace and love.
PURPOSE
Established in 1993, the MACS Education Foundation has raised nearly $4 million dollars to provide quality, Catholic education. Gifts are raised from parents, family and friends of MACS through an Annual Giving Campaign, (which typically kicks-off in the fall and runs on a fiscal year July 1st - June 30th), and through the generosity of many companies as part of their matching gifts program.
A Board of Directors, comprised of MACS parents and business leaders, manages the Foundation. The Board’s efforts are directed toward the wise and sound management of the Foundation assets with the leadership and guidance from the Development office of the Diocese of Charlotte.
Together, you and the MACS Education Foundation are making a difference in the lives of our children and our community.
